On the loss of the global statesman: Koffi Annan

Association of Physicians and Medical Workers for Social Responsibility (APMS-IPPNW Kenya) joins Kenyans and the world in mourning the fall of a great hero- Koffi Annan whose demise was pronounced earlier today. It is wisely said that when a great tree falls, its birds are shaken. Koffi Annan’s loss will be forever remembered in the minds of Kenyans, especially for his exceptional role in mediating the peace deal between retired President Kibaki and retired right honorable Raila Odinga. As the health community we will be eternally

MSSR-Moi University Student Training 18th July 2016

The  conference was a beautifully organised event which, in my opinion, was able to
convey satisfactorily what everyone ultimately working for a common cause can be able
to accomplish.
Being my first time attending any such event by the MSSR at Moi chapter, as well as its
affiliate parent institutions APMSR and IPPNW, I would say the conference was able to
truly bring to perspective what the initiatives aim to accomplish. One of the most significant
messages I personally took from the conference was the magnitude of the nuclear warfare
problem from a global perspective. Before this, I was

On the 17th of June 2016, IPPNW affiliate in Kenya had the privilege of attending an NGO strategy

day hosted by Control Arms in Nairobi. It was a very well attended event and we were pleased to be

in attendance. Among the attendees aside from the Control Arms secretariat from New York were

an array of organisations involved in peace work  from the region.  We together formed a very good

group with input from many different aspects and with good youthful representation. Some of the

Beautiful dawn light on Mt. Kilimanjaro

Beautiful dawn light on Mt. Kilimanjaro

Day one, 30th June: We all gather at Uhuru Hostel, Tuesday morning for the Pre-climb briefing. We are introduced to Maggie from African Zoom Adventures and the head guide and they go through the requirements and everybody has to confirm that they have all the gear so that what they don’t have can be leased before leaving Moshi for the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. A few people take pictures during the briefing. I sit quietly because it is beginning to dawn on me what we are about to embark on. The grandiosity of
